Built in a strategically important location during the Ottoman period, this historic castle was completed in the 16th century under Sultan Bayezid II. While our guide shares fascinating facts about the castle, they will also provide detailed information on its historical functions and preserved walls. Upon climbing the castle, you can take photos against the magnificent sea view of Çeşme and spend ample time exploring this historic structure up close.
After Çeşme Castle, we head towards Alaçatı. One of the most beautiful and popular towns of the Aegean, Alaçatı is famous for its narrow streets, stone houses, and walls adorned with colorful flowers. Additionally, Alaçatı is a paradise for surfing enthusiasts and attracts young people heavily during the summer months. Our guide will share information about the history, cultural structure, and famous stone architecture of Alaçatı. During our free time here, you can explore the streets, shop from colorful boutiques, or enjoy a pleasant coffee at cafes.
After Alaçatı, we proceed to Ilıca Beach. This beach, known for its crystal-clear waters, healing thermal springs, and white sand, offers both a relaxing atmosphere and a wonderful swimming experience as it is where hot water sources meet the sea. During our swimming break here, you can enjoy the sea and bask in the sun. Furthermore, while resting at the beach, you will have plenty of opportunities to explore the rocky formations diving into the depths of the sea and the surrounding area.

From the magnesium-rich white sands of Salda Lake to the limestone steps of Pamukkale Travertines to be walked barefoot, from the shadowless wide streets of Hierapolis Ancient City to the historic ramparts of Çeşme Castle, and from Alaçatı's rugged stone streets to the shallow, warm thermal waters of Ilıca Beach in the Aegean Sea, comfort is the most fundamental determinant of your travel quality on this intense 2-day journey. Taking into account the region's summer climate characteristics, traverten rules, and beach programs, our Epic Tatil operations team has prepared the following luggage guide recommendations:
1. Footwear Selection for Ancient Cities, Barefoot Travertines, and Stone Streets On this tour, the management of your shoes and sandals is critically important. Walking on Pamukkale Travertines with shoes is strictly prohibited; you will need to carry your shoes in your hand or in your backpack. Additionally, the streets of Hierapolis, Çeşme Castle, and Alaçatı are entirely covered with uneven stone and marble surfaces. Therefore, to ensure safe steps in these areas, you must bring a high-traction orthopedic sneaker or hiking shoe with deep treads that is easy to put on and take off. After the travertine walk and during swimming breaks at Ilıca Beach, a non-slip comfortable beach sandal or flip-flop should be included in your backpack. It is also wise to bring a small empty bag to hang your shoes in your backpack at the travertine entrance.
2. Aegean and Mediterranean Sun, Humidity Balance, and Beach Equipment You will be exposed to intense sunlight all day on Salda Lake beaches and open areas of Pamukkale. To protect your skin, high-protection factor (SPF 50+) sunscreens, quality UV-filtered sunglasses, and wide-brimmed hats should be in your backpack from the first day. To fully enjoy Ilıca Beach and the Ancient Pool excursions, you must add at least two spare swimsuits/bikinis and thin microfiber beach towels with high absorbency and quick-drying properties to your luggage. To handle potential sweating throughout the day, it is critical for your comfort to carry plenty of light-colored cotton T-shirts, shorts, and spare underwear. To protect yourself from the air conditioning breeze inside the bus after returning from the sea in the late afternoon, do not neglect bringing a light cardigan or a thin sweatshirt.
3. Technology, Digital Archive Management, and Power Sources From the Maldives silhouette of Salda Lake to the pristine white squares of travertines at sunset tones, from Alaçatı's bougainvillea-covered stone houses to the windows of Çeşme Castle opening onto the Aegean plain, every moment is a visual feast. Intensive video/photo shooting, local network searches, and navigation use during free time will drain your phone battery three times faster than normal. To maintain uninterrupted communication during meeting times with our guide, we strongly recommend adding a high-capacity (at least 10,000 or 20,000 mAh) quality power bank to your backpack.
4. Financial Planning and Local Shopping Preparations Although our tour package includes breakfast and dinner at the hotel, expenses such as the morning snack on the first day, all lunch meals, the evening meal on the last day, museum entry fees, and purchases of Serinhisar chickpeas and Denizli textile outlet items are your own responsibility. To facilitate shopping and transactions at village/road stalls, you should carry a sufficient amount of cash Turkish Lira (TL) in small denominations (20, 50, 100, 200 TL) with you. While credit cards are accepted in large factory outlet stores, cash will significantly speed up your transactions at local flavor stops.
As the Epic Tatil family, we wish you enjoyable travels in advance on this distinguished journey to the heart of nature, thermal healing, and elite Aegean culture!
